The Lord's Supper will be observed on Sunday, January 4, 2015 during the 10:30 a.m. worship service.
Building Fund Sunday is observed every second Sunday of the month. Members have agreed to contribute toward the monthly goal. We are thankful to God for the members who support this project each and evey month.

Dr. Martin Luther King Day is January 19, 2015. This day is a federal holiday honoring the life and achievements of one of the most well-known, influential, highly respected, and iconic leaders of the civil rights movement.
Every Thursday is Kid's Movie Night from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Resource Center located at 1600 Alvar Street (504-943-0207). All children are welcome to attend (pizza and drinks are served).
Please consider joining the Evangelism Team. They meet every other Saturday morning for 9:00 a.m. in the Community Resource Center located at 1600 Alvar Street.
Sunday School teachers' meeting is held every Wednesday at 5:30 p. m. to 6:30 p. m. in the Multi-Purpose Hall. All teachers and other related staff team members are expected to be present.
The Community Voice meetings are held here at New Salem Baptist Church every third Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. These meetings are designed to keep the community informed of important issues and concerns.
On August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans, LA. Our church was seriously flooded and damaged.
Thanks be to God our church has been restored! To see some of the devastation and restoration.
